Have you ever bought a dress that you loved but which made you look like you are somewhere in your third trimester or one that completely suppressed the evenness of your waist?  For some of us getting a dress that flatters your waist is a dream that only a belt can make true.

Belts are the coolest fashion accessories that have the capability of changing the look of your waist size on a whim. Belts have the amazing power of outfit transformation yet many of us have wardrobes devoid of this great accessory.

There are a variety of belts that are available; metallic, leather, woven and plaid. If the belts fashion is new to you it is best to purchase one universal belt--preferably solid black, brown, or cream. On different outfits, these will look incredible.
To incorporate a belt, one should wear it just above the navel to flaunt the thinnest part of the waist. Do not put it on too tight as it will only go far to show what you would rather hide.

Belts will look great on any figure depending on size. A skinny belt is a great look for a skinny hour glass shaped woman. For plus-size women, try bigger, thicker belts to create a proportional balance to your look.

One should wear a belt over a fitted blouse paired with a pencil skirt, or jeans. You can play mix and match with different colour belts. Flashy coloured belts are best worn on neutral colour outfits. A black belt always works for most outfits.

Belts can be matched up with bags and shoes to create a greater effect and to bring out the art of accessory coordination.

Most belts are inexpensive to purchase, and can be worn year-round. Belts go a long way to accentuate a thin waist and to flatter one’s curves.

Got an old scarf you don’t use anymore? You can turn it into a belt. Men’s ties can also be improvised to make a belt. This tied on a waist or just at the hips is incredibly gorgeous.

This look works well with just about any outfit—you can wear a sash belt with a business suit or jeans. The fantasy of belt transformation is one that every woman should tap into because secretly we all dream of that perfect look, one that a belt may go along way to achieve.
