First half goals from Jean Claude Nizeyimana and Adolphe Hakizimana secured Rutsiro's second consecutive playoff win at home.

Nizeyimana opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, followed by Hakizimana doubled the lead in the 40th minute to help their side maintain second place.

Prior to the match, the Western Province-based side was six points behind table leaders Vision FC and level with AS Muhanga, who had played one more game.

In another key fixture on Saturday, June 1, Vision FC earned a crucial point with a 2-2 draw at Muhanga Stadium, thanks to a stoppage-time equalizer from Jean Claude Harerimana.

With two games remaining in the playoffs, Vision FC lead the table with 10 points, followed by Rutsiro with seven points. AS Muhanga sit third with four points while Intare find themselves at the bottom with one point.

Vision FC, undefeated in the playoffs, are the clear favorites for promotion, needing just one point from their remaining two matches.
