Victory Concert to address drug abuse

Shining Star Drama team is set to perform.

On January 02, Victory Initiative will host the highly anticipated Victory concert at the Kigali Arena starting from 1pm to 4pm.

The concert is aimed at fighting against drugs and alcohol use in youth, Victory Concert will host different artists and individuals who will share hope filled messages in relation to quitting and avoiding drugs.

Doors to the gospel concert will be open from 12:30, and entrance will be free to everyone.

Speaking to The New Times, Sabrina Isimbi who heads Victory Initiative, said that preparations are ongoing and that the event will be a success.

"So far artistes who will perform are doing intensive rehearsals. The concert will be a good experience to everyone who will attend, youths in particular,” she said.

Artistes expected to perform at the concert include; True Promises, Aline Gahongayire, Dominic Ashimwe, Shining Star Drama team, and guitarist Justin Cubaka, among others.

Isimbi noted that the event is an opportunity for gospel music lovers and youth who are addicted to drugs and eagerly want to stop, to listen to invited experts.

"We believe that the youth are the catalyst of any development and drugs can’t help in that sense. That’s why among the people we invited are psychologists, legislators, and elite people who used to consume drugs to share their experience on how to be set free from them.”
