GASOGI United have confirmed the signing of Rwanda international and former APR goalkeeper Olivier Kwizera on a six-month deal.
The 24-year old put pen on paper Friday ahead of his new team’s friendly match against his old team, APR, on Saturday.
Kwizera, who spent the last two months training with Gasogi first team, had been without a club since October after parting ways with South African side Free State Stars where he played for nearly three years.
"He (Kwizera) is now our player. We have finalised everything, and we are confident he will play a huge role in the club’s goalkeeping department,” said Charles Kakooza Nkuliza, the club’s chairman.
It is reported that Kwizera was signed for Rwf5.5 million.
He is the second major signing Gasogi have made this month after Tresor Ndikumana who joined from Kenyan side AFC Leopards.
Kwizera is expected to make instant impact, with the team having conceded 16 goals from 15 matches in their maiden Rwanda Premier League season.
