The Arian trade exhibition that brought together manufacturers from Iran, has been extended for another 10 days. This comes after exhibitors decried a poor turn out rate of visitors for the last 15 days at Amahoro Petit Stade in Remera.
The exhibition was poised to end on Sunday, but will now run until the 4th of March. This means that Rwandans will have another chance to procure Iranian products.
According to Arash Ashtari, the Head of Commercial Affairs of Arian Trade and Investment Group, the extension was based on public demand.
"People asked if we can extend till early next month as they get their salaries buy their dream household items,” he explained. Ashtari added that this offers exhibitors a chance to reduce on their stocks.
One exhibitor showcasing jewels who only identified himself as Ehsan said, that the 10 days would perhaps attract more customers.
"Maybe we will have more people to buy since it was upon their request,” he said.
By Friday last week, all the 15 exhibitors were reported to have registered a few sales with over half of their stocks piled in the stores. This prompted exhibitors to seek for a decision about what to do with the stocks before the end of the deadline.
Being the first ever Arian exhibition and graced by the Rwanda Private Sector Federation (PSF), it is expected to benefit both local and international exhibitors through the creation of networks, which could also result into business synergies.
