Ghanaian dancehall star Magnom has confirmed his performance in Kigali next weekend.

Popular for his major hit "My Baby”, Magnom will be the main act for MTN Rwanda’s ‘Izihirwe na Muzika’ campaign at Petit Stade’s main parking ground, on December 20.

MTN Rwanda launched the campaign in October this year, to celebrate and reward its customers for their loyalty.

The rapper, born Joseph Bulley, is heard in the telecom’s advertising video confirming his performance. This will be Magnom’s second performance in Kigali, after he headlined the Roc New Year Countdown in 2017, at Kigali Serena Hotel.

"Hey Rwanda! This is bad man Magnom….I am excited to announce that I will be performing live in Kigali at MTN Rwanda Izihirwe na Muzika,” the singer confirmed in a short video.

Magnom gained the attention of Ghanaians after he produced the single- "Illuminati”, with Ghanaian BET award winner Sarkodie. The singer has various hit songs, but the most popular in Rwanda are ‘My Baby’ featuring Joey B and ‘Sika’ featuring Sarkodie. His other songs include ‘Knack’, ‘Overfeed Me’, ‘Oheema’ and ‘Bam Bam’ among others.

Magnom will be performing along with a major lineup of local entertainers including Riderman, Bushali, Social Mula, Symphony band and of course DJ Marnaud, who will be spinning all the right tracks, to make concertgoers stay on their feet throughout the concert.

The ‘Izihirwe na Muzika’ Kigali concert follows roadshows, during which local artistes entertained thousands of audiences in four districts; Rubavu, Huye, Musanze and Rwamagana.

Speaking about the event, Gisele Fanny Wibabara, the Sponsorship and Events Manager at MTN, told The New Times: "A number of local artistes have been helping us during our upcountry campaigns, and the audience really enjoyed their performances, but we invited Magnom because we believe the Kigali concert will be even bigger to conclude the campaign in style, and perhaps a launch a new product.”

The campaign was not only about entertainment, but also rewarding the best concertgoers who participated in MTN’s DJ battle and Open Mic competitions, where the winners in each category walked away with Rwf200,000 and Rwf100,000 respectively.

The finalists from the two categories, however, will compete at the finals for the cash prize of Rwf1, 500,000 and Rwf1,000,000 respectively.

Regular section is free, while the VIP wing will go for Rwf10,000—with a coupon of a drink.
