Rwanda’s Tania vies for Miss Africa crown

Tania Muvunyi has been nominated to represent Rwanda at the Miss Africa Calabar 2019 beauty pageant.

Now in its fourth edition, Miss Africa Calabar, is an annual international beauty contest organised by the Nigerian Cross River state. This initiative aims at promoting lifestyle with the amalgamation of beauty, fashion, nature and charity.

Tania, is a former contestant for Miss Rwanda 2018, and was also selected the best model by Most Beautiful Queen in Africa pageant, the same year.

The event is slated for December 27 at the Calabar International Convention Centre, Cross River State, Nigeria and is expected to host over 30 African beauties across Africa. The is year’s pageant is celebrated under the theme: ‘Humanity, is to challenge mankind that every human being has a right to existence.’

The contestants will attend a mandatory boot camp for three weeks, where they will be mentored to become a voice and face of positive change in their communities. The grand finale will see the fourth Miss Africa Queen crowned. She will lead other contestants in the campaign to make the world a better place for humanity by promoting Africa positively to the world at large.

The winner will take home $30,000 cash prize and a brand new car.

 Last year, Rwanda was represented by Irebe Natacha in the competition that was won by Dorcas Kasinde from DR Congo. In 2018, Fiona Umutoni, who was representing Rwanda emerged first runner-up.
