Rwandan female model, Rachel Ineza, has been nominated for the Swahili Fashion awards.Swahili Fashion Week is the biggest and largest annual fashion event in East and Central Africa since its inception. Founded in 2008, the event provides a platform for fashion and accessory designers from Swahili speaking countries and beyond, to showcase their talent, market their creativity, network with clientele and promote a made in Africa concept.

Among this year’s contestants is Rachel Ineza, who is vying for the best Fashionist award in the East African category. She is competing with Aly Raymond from Burundi, Amito Isabela from Uganda, Kenya’s Celestine Awuor and Deng of South Sudan.

Voting is through Swahili Fashion Week website, and the deadline is December 5.

The awards gala will take place at Serena Hotel, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, from December 6-8.
