Dear editor,

I share the same feeling of trepidation that residents of eastern DR Congo have now that the joint forces are leaving- I am afraid that the FDLR will come back terrorize them.

It should be remembered that many of its members haven’t been flushed out of the jungle. There must be a way to protect these people even if the joint operation has come to an end.
