The Basketball Africa League (BAL) playoffs which are underway at BK Arena has attracted a host of world celebrities, local and international, who gather to witness the best of African basketball.

The playoffs kicked off on May 24, and runs until June 1, with special halftime shows of each game that feature performances by both local and international acts.

Celebrities including Bien Aime, former member of famous Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol, Nigerian artiste Adekunle Gold, Miss Rwanda 2020 Naomi Nishimwe and former NBA player Joackim Noah are among other stars enjoying the basketball show from some of Africa’s finest basketball players.

Stars have been attending sporting events like boxing and football for decades but sitting courtside feels closer to the action, making basketball events of BAL and NBA caliber more attractive to celebrities.

The New Times’ photographer Dan Gatsinzi, through his lens, captured different pictures of celebrities flocking courtside and other VIP seats at the BAL Playoffs game taking place at BK Arena.
