Bigomba Guhinduka stars; Japhet Mazimpaka and Etienne Iryamukuru, a.k.a Etienne 5K, are no longer part of DayMakers Edutainment.

"From today, November 13, I no longer belong to DayMakers Entertainment," read part of Mazimpaka’s tweet.

Speaking to The New Times, Mazimpaka confirmed the act, adding that "me and Etienne will continue working together as usual in Bigomba Guhinduka.”

He also explained that the reason behind this was that the company didn’t abide to the agreement they had.

"DayMakers did not abide to what we had agreed in our contract. I can’t name the clauses one by one; the payment aspect or others, but it has something to do with the contract at large,” he said.   

Emmanuel Mugisha, aka Clapton Kibonge, who’s the founder and CEO of DayMakers Edutainment, without tackling much on the contract aspect said that the company will go ahead and look for other young talented comedians.

"They were not shareholders. Our contract wasn’t permanent. Since we helped them get to where they are today, they can now continue their careers without being under our management,”

"Our mandate is to promote young talented comedians, and we are going to continue doing so, as we also seek for other upcoming talents,” he noted.

Etienne and Japhet joined DayMakers management in February this year, and since then they began shining country wide in concerts like both editions of Bigomba Guhinduka and the recent Caravan du Rire among others.

"I don’t think our performance will be negatively affected. As long as we keep on working hard, which we will, we are going to continue thriving,” Iryamukuru said.

The comedy managerial company now remains with Clapton, Divine Munyana, Florance Sugira, Divine Teta, and Jean-Marie Vianney Ndayisaba, aka Makanika.
