Friday Kiyovu Vs APR 18:00

APR head coach Mohammed Adil Erradi has insisted that his side will be taking nothing for granted when they face SC Kiyovu in Rwanda Premier League at Kigali Stadium on Friday.

The game will get underway at 6pm.

A lot will be at stake for the army side who look to reclaim the top spot from archrivals Police, and to maintain their unbeaten run this season.

Ahead of the game, APR are third with 17 points – having won five and drawn twice – from seven matches, while SC Kiyovu are in fifth position with 14 points. Victory for the latter will see the two teams go level.

"This is a very important game for us. We want to go top again and to keep our unbeaten run. We won’t take anything for granted,” said Moroccan tactician Erradi.

Both sides go into the highly anticipated encounter on the back of edgy victories from match-day 7 when APR beat second-placed Mukura 1-0 while SC Kiyovu won 2-1 over newcomers Heroes.

"Kiyovu are a good team. We must expect to be made to work, but I am confident in the winning mentality of my players. We will fight to keep our title ambitions bright,” added Erradi.

On the other side, Burundian coach Dieudonne Mugunga, who has vowed to turn SC Kiyovu into title contenders from mid table status, will be hoping to maintain his team’s impressive run that has reaped four wins and two draws in their opening seven games this term.

"My players must do their very best to beat APR. We need a win to stay in the race.”   "We have really improved as a team, but we can definitely do better and we will keep trying. The APR game is a good test to our credentials as (serious) challengers for the title.”

Three-time champions Kiyovu have not won the league title since 1993.
