Exercising is important because it helps you to achieve a state of optimum health. Physical exercises are advisable for everyone including pregnant women, because it strengthens nerves and bones.

Regulates metabolism, and ensures proper circulation of blood and nutrients to all the cells and tissues of the body, including the fetus.

In Rwanda, the idea of carrying out physical exercise is obligatory in almost all public institutions. And as a matter of fact on Friday afternoons, all offices close and workers are required to engage in sports like: playing tennis, football, jogging, swimming, gym...to mention but a few.

However, there are also those who constantly give excuses that they would love to do such exercises, but do not have the time.

This is a common phenomenon, but for Heaven’s sake, sacrificing only 30 minutes in a week for your own benefit cannot be unattainable.

There are several different exercises that can support your fitness. Dr Brain Ngarambe says, walking is one of the best. Even if it is just a few meters, walking can do wonders for your health and is also a good stress reliever.

"It is also advisable to eat healthy food in order to help the body respond positively,” says Ngarambe.

Exercise affects the body, mind and soul. It starts with the inner part, you feel better. And outside, you look health, and finally the mind, you are able to think better.

Jackson Tushabe walks home from work, in Kacyiru every evening. And on weekends he goes to the gym, or sometimes jogs. He says the exercise has made him strong and health.

"There is evidence to suggest that exercise reduces the risk of diseases, like diabetes, obesity and depression,” says psychiatrist James Ndayisenga.

So, if you are looking for a fine way to workout your health and kind of activity to do, why not try sports?

The concept of sweating out by doing exercising may put off many of us who do not find it exciting at all, but one can obtain great benefits from exercise.
