MUSANZE, KINIGI – Joe and Mary Ann Mcdonald were last Friday recorded as the 50th mountain gorillas trekkers at the Volcano National Park within a period of six years.

During a special luncheon which Joe and Mary Ann Mcdonald organised at Kinigi guest house, to mark their successful 50th time of tracking all Gorilla Families, they were overjoyed over what they termed as an  ‘exhausting but exulting experience.’

"We enjoy the wild life, the country, its wonderful life experience and the mountain gorillas are a world treasure which we feel privileged to spend time with,’’ Mcdonald said.

The couple who own a wild life photography company have travelled to Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, and other West African countries and in major animal sanctuaries in Africa and other parts of the world. 

At the luncheon, the chief park warden, Prosper Uwingeri challenged Rwandans to achieve high standards of meeting the expectations of visitors who come to Rwanda in terms of good service delivery and customer care.

He described it as a memorable experience visiting the national parks to see the ‘good things’ Rwanda can offer to the world.

The couple hailed Primate Safaris, a tour company they have used in all their bookings to and from Rwanda. They said it was a rewarding experience each time they visit which lures them to always visit again.
