The inaugural corporate multisport event, organised by the 1000 Hills Events, has been scheduled for November 3 at IPRC-Kigali grounds.
Participating corporate teams will compete in six disciplines namely; football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, cricket and athletics.
According to Nathan Offodox Ntaganzwa, Manager of the 1000 Hills Events, the one-day competitions are aimed at motivating and calling employers and employees in the corporate sphere to spare some time for sports so as to combat non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
"Corporate and private sector people are known to be people, but it should not be at the expense of their own lives. No one can be productive if they are not healthy,” Ntaganzwa said during an interview with Times Sport.
He further noted that registered companies are allowed to field teams in a maximum of two sports of their choice. The registration fee per company is Rwf200,000.
The corporate initiative has been endorsed by the City of Kigali and the Ministry of Health.
