Nigerian Afro-pop musician Adekunle Gold on Friday, May 24, took BK Arena by storm thanks to his energetic performance at the halftime show during Friday’s Basketball Africa League (BAL) second playoff game between Al Ahly of Egypt and Moroccan side FUS Rabat (Morocco).

The Nigerian had promised to deliver a ‘crazy’ performance when he arrived in Kigali on Wednesday, May 22, and it’s what and his dancers exactly did when the two teams headed for a break at halftime.

Adekunle Gold, also known as AG Baby, stepped on the stage around 8:45PM performed one of his viral songs ‘It’s Ok’ which lifted the mood inside the packed arena.

The singer further performed some of his Amapiano hit songs including ‘Rodo and I’ that features Davido, before heading back to back stage to pave way for the teams to continue the game.

The New Times understands that apart from the BAL performance, Adekunle gold might also perform in some city pubs before jetting back to Nigeria.

Adekunle had earlier said that Rwanda is one of the countries that are doing big in economy and innovation, urging more nations to learn from the country’s development journey.

Rwanda’s Juno Kizigenza and renowned cultural troupe Inganzo Ngari also delivered buzzing performances on the opening day of the continental club basketball competition.

The latter was joined by dancers from countries represented at BAL 2024 playoffs in Kigali where they showcased their cultures through dance that left basketball fans excited.

BAL playoffs will also feature performances by other local acts, including The Ben, Chris Eazy, Ish Kevin, Kevin Kade, Ariel Wayz, Kivumbi King, Bwiza, Ishami Talent, Inganzi Ngari cultural troupe and Kenny Sol.

Real name Adekunle Kosoko, Adekunle Gold is a Nigerian highlife singer, songwriter and graphic designer who gained widespread attention after releasing the 2015 hit single "Sade", a highlife cover of One Direction’s "Story of My Life".

The 36-year old singer, who is a member of the famous Kosoko royal family of Lagos, is married to Simi, one of the best female artistes in Africa.
