Jean Claude Gasigwa made light work of top seed Duncan Mugabe yesterday to book a slot in the final of the Tusker-Malt sponsored Uganda Open.

Even with a mammoth home crowd cheering home boy Mugabe, Rwanda’s top seed still worked his way to a well deserved 6-2, 6-3 win to set up a final’s clash with Kenya’s Francis Rogoi, who came from a set down to eject Zimbabwe’s veteran Martin Dzuwa 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

It’s the fourth time Gasigwa is facing the Kenyan. In the pair’s head to head battle, Gasigwa has won twice with the Kenyan claiming one victory however; Gasigwa is not resting on his laurels. Speaking ahead of today’s final, Gasigwa said that he would not take the Kenyan for granted.

"His game has improved a great deal so I have to be very careful,” he said.nIn the ladies’ final, Rwanda’s Meagan Ingabire plays Caroline Odour of Kenya.
