Nigerian tactician Imama Kwaku Amapakabo has left his position as head coach of Etoile de l'Est, six months after joining the club.
Etoile de l'Est is one of the teams that were relegated from the topflight to the second division during the recently concluded 2023/2024 season, despite the fight it put up during the second round.
"It was a great six months at Etoile. I did a great job in the second round with wins against some of the big teams but I am sad we couldn't survive," Kwaku told Times Sport.
The experienced coach joined Etoile in November 2023 following the sacking of Maurice Nshimiyimana.
During his brief tenure, he won 8 games, drew 3 and lost 5.
Etoile suffered relegation on the final day of the 2023/24 season following a defeat to Bugesera FC.
Kwaku has now left for his native country but did not rule out a return to the Rwandan top flight.
"I have always loved taking on challenges in foreign countries. I have many offers here in Nigeria but if a deal comes for me from the Rwandan league, I will return," he said.
