APR women volleyball have reached the last four at the ongoing Nyerere International Championship, in Arusha – Tanzania, after finishing top of their group.
The Rwandan side faces Tanzania’s TKJ in semi-finals on Sunday for a spot in Monday’s final.
APR advanced to the knock-outs on Saturday following their win over Kenyan side Hakika in four (3-1) sets 25-18 20-25 25-21 and 25-23.
"It is great to be in the semi-finals as group leaders, but we still have a lot to work on. We need to improve our game if we achieve our mission here – to win the title,” APR captain Yvonne Bayija told Sunday Sport in a post-match interview.
Before Saturday’s victory, APR had overpowered Orkeeswa and Jeshi of Tanzania in straight sets in their first games.
In another semi-final clash, Hakika take on compatriots DCI who finished the preliminaries as Group A leaders.
