On the night of October 25, all roads will lead to the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Villag (formerly Camp Kigali) for global multi award-winning international Congolese music star, Awilo Longomba’s performance.

The "Coupe Bibamba” hitmaker will be performing live at the Kigali Jazz Junction, in what will also be his first show in Rwanda.Awilo is among the most celebrated African artistes, and has performed in several counties such as Nigeria, Cameroon, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Zambia, Gabon, Mali, Switzerland, Belgium, UK, and in America. His popular songs include, "Mondongo”, "Zumbeya”, and "Moto Pamba”, among many others.Preparations for the event that is organised by Rg-Consult Inc, is already underway. Tickets will go for Rwf10,000 (general), Rwf20,000 (VIP), the VVIP table at Rwf25,000, and the VVIP table for 8 (close to the stage) at Rwf200,000. 

Also, performing at the same event are two Rwandan artistes; Afrobeat sensational singer Mani Martin, and fast rising star Rita Ange Kagaju, who has taken the music industry by surprise, with her singles "No Offence”, and "Jamaa”, among others.

Speaking to The New Times on Monday about the show, Rg-Consult Inc’s Remmygious Lubega, explained how getting Awilo Longomba to perform at the show has been one of the plans that have for long been pending. 

"Awilo has been on our list for a very long time, and we have demands. We listen to our audience and they have been demanding for a rumba artist after we did Mbilia Bel, so he’s been on the top list of artistes we’ve been asked by the audience and since we are an audience-driven event, we listen and deliver accordingly,’’ he said.

Music lovers will also be entertained by talented singer Rita Ange Kagaju‭.‬‭ /‬Courtesy‭.‬

He added that as many people have noticed how there is going to be two events in two consecutive months, (September and October), having had the last one at the end of May this year, there is a reason as to why it has happened this way.

"We usually take a break in summer, because there are lots of other events that are happening and also our sponsors  usually have events during that time and we do other events that are not Kigali Jazz Junction,’’ he explained.

Lubega noted that there will be a major show in November, and the artistes that will perform would be announced soon. 

Last month, the event was headlined by Nigerian singer and songwriter John Ighodaro, aka Johnny Drille, who performed alongside homeboy Sintex.
