Editor,
I am writing to you in reaction to a letter, published in your esteemed newspaper, and sent by a KIE student, dated Tuesday 10th February 2009 titled "KIE, please help us”.
I read the letter in disappointment, more so, as the solution to the students gripes had been found on 5th February 2009.
Allow me to state, on record, that the KIE administration organized a general meeting with the 4th year students on the 7th January.
The students request was to be provided with "Attestation tenant lieu de diplôme” (or leaving certificate), pending when they would graduate in March.
The request was forwarded to the Academic Senate on 3rd February where and it was decided to give official Academic Transcripts instead of "Attestation tenant lieu de diplome” or Leaving Certificate, which the students wanted.
On the 30th January and 1st to 2nd February 2009 Radio Contact passed a KIE announcement calling 4th year students to get their transcripts on 5th February, the same message being relayed by Radio Rwanda on 2nd to 4th February.
On the 5th February, finalists who wanted their Academic Transcripts got them. It appears that there was an oversight or negligence on the part of the un-named student.
