Four people were seriously injured in a fatal accident involving a trailer along the Kigali- Gatuna road yesterday. According to Claude Bizimana, an eye witness, a Toyota Corolla registered RAA 467H that had four passengers on board was knocked by an unidentified trailer which sped off immediately after the accident.

The injured are admitted in Gicumbi Hospital in the Northern Province.

"It was late evening when a trailer knocked this car and the driver drove off,” Bizimana a local defence force who witnessed the incident said.

Apollinaire Maniragaba, who is in charge traffic police in Gicumbi, said that the mysterious truck was later impounded at the Gatuna boarder post.

"We arrested its driver but he had to be released because no person died in the accident,” Maniragaba said. He said the victims were recovering.
