Some teams that will compete at the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2024 playoffs have started to arrive in Kigali ahead of the much-anticipated basketball showpiece slated for May 24 to June 1.
The playoffs will see 8 African basketball clubs rub shoulders inside the BK Arena to decide the new champion.

Nigerian Rivers Hoopers and Cape Town Tigers (South Africa) have already touched down in the country while Angola's Petro de Luanda, US Monastir (Tunisia), Al Ahly SC (Egypt), Al Ahly Ly (Libya), FUS Rabat (Morocco), and AS Douanes (Senegal) jet in on Monday evening.
The teams will be residing at Four Points by Sheraton and Radisson Blu hotels.
They will compete in a single-elimination playoffs and finals format, with the winner set to be crowned BAL champions. Not team has ever won BAL more than once.

The playoff opening game will see Libya’s Al Ahly Ly go up against South Africa’s Cape Town Tigers before holders Al Ahly (Egypt) take on FUS Rabat (Morocco) who finished at the top of inaugural Kalahari Conference.
BAL finals return to Kigali after the conference games closed with the Sahara Conference which recently concluded in Dakar, Senegal, leaving three out of four teams securing tickets to the playoffs and finals that will unfold in Kigali from May 24 - June 1.
For the first time, the playoffs will be held without a representative from Rwanda despite the country hosting the competition for a fourth successive year. APR failed to qualify for the playoffs after finishing at the bottom of the Sahara Conference group phase.
