Rwandans and friends of Rwanda living in Kampala were treated to a memorable night of cultural entertainment as renowned traditional musician Massamba Intore left revelers on their feet during the ‘Culture Night’ show held at Kampala Serena Hotel in Uganda.
The legendary singer took his music performance to Kampala, honouring an invitation from Ugandan events company 'Hudson's Willis'. The invitation was also extended to Ruti Joel and Impundu Cultural Troupe who also brought spectacle inside the hall with exciting performances.
Massamba’s performance attracted at least 1,000 Gakondo music enthusiasts, Rwandan and Ugandan, including Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Uganda Col. Joseph Rutabana.
The singer left no one seated especially when he performed some of his legendary songs like ‘Kanjogera’, ‘Nzajyinama Nande’, ‘Arihe’ and ‘Nyaruguru’ among others. He also staged ‘Igishakamba’ and evolutional songs to spice up the atmosphere.

"The event was one for the books, evident as Rwandans and friends of Rwanda made a big turnout for the concert. It’s been a while since they attended such a concert. They were happy, lively, and eager to learn more about our culture,” he told The New Times.
"There is a big Rwandan community in Kampala who still hold the spirit of loving each other and togetherness, and the concert was a good opportunity to bring them together and enjoy our rich culture.”
Massamba describes Uganda as his second home since it nurtured him and, most importantly, it is where he started his liberation music, which later proved him to be a legendary traditional musician.
