Jailing people who swindle public money is not enough

Editor, We should all applaud the zero-tolerance attitude given to the corrupt and those who embezzle public funds. Many of them have been tried and jailed, but I do not think this is enough.

Editor,

We should all applaud the zero-tolerance attitude given to the corrupt and those who embezzle public funds. Many of them have been tried and jailed, but I do not think this is enough.

Let all those convicted pay back the money they stole through selling their property. It is useless to imprison someone for a number of years only to let then come back after a long period and enjoy the money he/she stole and kept in cash or as assets.

The punishment should be to render the culprits bankrupt.
