I agree with Irene V. Nambi’s article entitled "Unending cycle of wedding meetings” that ran in the Wednesday issue of The New Times.

Relatives and friends are not obliged to finance one’s wedding. It should be optional. People should also know that it is not right for anybody to attend just any wedding unless he/she is invited.
