Meanwhile, there are reports that defending champions APR is looking to recruit players from the East African region as they plot to defend their title.
Prior to the official kick-off, it is said that teams have organized friendly games to part of their build-up to the league.
Some of the games on schedule include; AS Kigali hosting Rubavu, Rayon Sports battling APR, Bugesera facing Musanze and Intare playing Inyemera.
Felicite Rwema, the executive director of association of Kigali women in sports also confirmed to Times Sport that they are planning to enter regional tournaments.
"Our national team was in Germany last year for a couple of weeks and played some matches with a few teams in Germany. It was a good learning curve for the girls so we want to do the same this year for the clubs and the national team,” she said.
