After winning the Abbé Fraipont Ndagijimana trophy over the weekend, Rayon Sports have no time to relax but rather quickly turn attention to the Agaciro Football Tournament 2019 slated for September 12-15.

Holders Rayon Sports will be joined by Mukura Victory Sports, APR FC and Police FC for the Agaciro tourney.

The championship attracts four teams that finished the previous football season with the highest points.

Rayon Sports beat Mukura Victory Sports 3-0 to lift the Fraipoint title on the ccasion of what would have been the centenary celebration of Abbé Joseph Julien Adrien Fraipont Ndagijimana, the founder of L’Homme de la Vierge des Pauvre (HVP) Gatagara, a training centre for the physically disabled.

Yannick Bizimana netted the opening goal in the 40th minute with Hussein Ciza Mugabo doubling the Blues’ advantage in the 64th minute. Omar Sidibe put the icing on the cake with a third goal in the 72nd minute.

"We have to give our best in every match and and winning this game gives us more confidence going forward,” said Rayon Sports technical director Jean Baptiste Kayiranga.

On his part, Mukura Head Coach Olivier Ovambe said they had drawn lessons from the defeat and hoped it would help his side better prepare for future games.

"I hope it will not affect our confidence,” added the Cameroonian.

The Agaciro Development Fund football championship helps mobilise funds for the country’s sovereign wealth fund.

Police FC won the inaugural tournament in 2015.
