APR v AS Kigali
After registering mixed fortunes on the continent, giants APR and Atraco shift their attention to local league action this afternoon.
Relegation battling Kiyovu face one of their toughest challenges when they take on the champions and league leaders Atraco at Mumena stadium.
Record nine-time league champions APR play host to AS-Kigali at Nyamirambo stadium.
Kiyovu lie at the bottom of the table standings with just nine points in 12 matches played this season, and must beat leaders Atraco to increase their chances of escaping the dreaded drop to the second tier.
On the other hand, Sam Timbe’s Atraco will be hoping to make amends for failing to progress to the next round of the African Champions League on the expense of Sudanese champions El Merreikh last weekend.
The taxi-men side won the corresponding fixture 2-0 played at their Shorongyi ground and will be seeking to do a double over their struggling opponents.
However, Kiyovu go into this match on the back of a precious 1-0 win against Marines in their last outing.
APR, who are tied on 27 points with Atraco, will be favourites but having struggled to break down Kenyan Gor Mahia defence at the weekend, AS-Kigali could count their own chances.
