President Paul Kagame, on Saturday, May 18, met with Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote in Kigali and discussed opportunities for partnership, investment as well as increasing intra-Africa trade.

Dangote, the richest man in Africa, was in Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum, a two-day event that concluded on Friday, May 16, having brought together more than 2,500 business leaders and policymakers from all over the world.

"President Kagame met with Aliko Dangote, the founder, chairman, and CEO of the Dangote Group and owner of the Dangote Refinery, the largest single-train refinery in the world,” a statement from the President’s office reads in part."They discussed opportunities for partnership and investment as well as the need to increase intra-Africa trade.”

Meanwhile, on Friday, May 17, Dangote told over 2,500 delegates attending the CEOs forum that 'nothing is impossible in Africa.’

He noted that he was optimistic about the direction of Africa's economic growth and that all signs pointed to a continent that stands to transform and serve the rest of the world.

"I am very excited because, going forward, the future is Africa. We have what it takes to make Africa great. That is why, I am not only putting in my own money, I am putting in my soul in Africa to make Africa great,” he said
