Their respective delegations agreed on a new roadmap that will guide bilateral cooperation between the two nations until 2025.

A Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) delegation led by Brig Gen Patrick Karuretwa, Head of International Military Cooperation Department, on May 16 concluded a second Joint Military Commission meeting with authorities of the French Armed Forces, in Paris.

According to a post on X by the RDF, the two sides reviewed the status of defence cooperation and signed a new roadmap that will guide bilateral cooperation between the two nations until 2025.

Last year, a delegation from the French Armed Forces (FAF) led by Brig Gen Fabien Kuzniak, the Head of Southern Bilateral Cooperation Department, was in Kigali to explore opportunities to further enhance the partnership with RDF.

Earlier, in May 2022, RDF hosted a delegation from the French Armed Forces for a one-day working visit as a follow up to another visit by an RDF delegation to France in March 2022.
