Yves Rwasamanzi is not taking anything for granted as the national youth football team face Ethiopia in their second Group B game at the ongoing CECAFA U-15 Challenge in Eritrea.

Eric Irahamye scored a hat-trick over the weekend as Rwanda got off to an impressive start with a 3-0 victory over South Sudan.

"Ethiopia are a good team, we will have to be very efficient in our game,” Rwasamanzi told Times Sport in a telephone interview from the Eritrean capital, Asmara, on Tuesday.

"The boys were fantastic in the first game, but I am sure we can do better in our remaining fixtures. We have areas of improvement, especially in the midfield and attack.”

Rwanda make Pool B along with Uganda, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Tanzania.

After Wednesday’s clash with Ethiopia, Rwasamanzi’s youthful side will be back in action on Friday, against Tanzania before wrapping the group campaign against Uganda on Sunday.

Ethiopia look to bounce back after losing 3-0 to Uganda in their opener last Saturday.

For Rwanda to progress to the last four, Rwasamanzi’s boys will have to finish among the best two teams in the group. The semi-finals are scheduled for August 28.

The inaugural Cecafa U-15 tournament is aimed at helping the Eastern African teams to prepare for the Under 17 AFCON qualifiers that start early next year.
