The newly promoted (to topflight league) sides Heroes and Gasogi lock horns Saturday afternoon at Kigali Stadium to determine the 2018-19 champions of the second division football league.

The game gets underway at 3:30pm.

Heroes made it to the final after edging out Etoile de l’Est in semi-finals on Wednesday, while Gasogi saw off Sorwathe.

By reaching the final, both sides automatically sealed their spots in the Azam Rwanda Premier League next season.

Speaking to Saturday Sport on Friday, Heroes coach JMV Nkeshimimana said that, despite earning promotion to top tier football, his side will not relax in the final as they seek to end the season in style.

In a separate interview, his Gasogi counterpart Marcel Lomami, also said: "We have achieved the first step, and now our target is to be champions. It is surely going to be a tough match, but we are ready for the challenge.”

The title decider will be preceded by the third-place playoff between Sorwathe and Etoile de l’Est, starting at 1pm.

On top of the trophy, champions will also bag Rwf3million in cash prize. First runners-up will pocket Rwf1.5million, while second runners-up walk away with Rwf500,000.

The two finalists, Heroes and Gasogi, will replace Kirehe and Amagaju who were relegated from the topflight league at the end of the 2018/2019 season, last month.
