Having achieved the Car-free Day initiative, City of Kigali has embarked on another project, which is more captivating to concertgoers.
City of Kigali has introduced a free concert series that will take place every last Friday of the month, from 5pm to 9pm.
The first day of the carnival will feature an impressive array of artistes, including Abdul Makanyaga, R&B crooner Bruce Melodie, Francois Nsengiyumva, and Aganze band, to entertain city dwellers.
The monthly concerts will be held at the Kigali Car-Free Zone, where revellers will be entertained to both traditional and contemporary dance performances.

During a news conference on Wednesday, at the City headquarters, City Vice-Mayor in charge of Economic Development, Parfait Busabizwa, said the concerts will create a vibrant, and stress-free environment for its residents.
"It’s an initiative we have been thinking about for a long time, before deciding to implement it, because we want to ensure that people have some entertainment after a busy month,” said Busabizwa.
"All these are free concerts, and we shall be bringing some of the country’s talented entertainers on stage,” he added.
Busabizwa said the venue for the festivity will be extended to other parts of the city depending on the feedback from the turn-ups.
