Pepsi products have been re-lunched on the market after being off the shelves for over 14 years.
The company’s internationally branded products including Pepsi Cola and Mirinda which has two unique flavors of Mirinda Fruity and Mirinda Pineapple were launched last week after three trial weeks to establish distribution chains in Kigali and Gisenyi.
The products manufactured by the Kampala based Crown Beverages Limited are being locally imported and distributed by Mundock Traders based in Gikondo.
Speaking to the press at Car Wash last week the agency’s representative Henry Rugamba said the new brand was ready to engage in competitive business with locally produced beverages of BRALIRWA.
The Rwanda soft drinks market is one of the fastest growing sectors in the country and has traditionally been dominated by Coca-Cola products.
"The company is excited about re-launching its products in Rwanda which is viewed as a leading growing market in the region,” Rugamba said.
In presence of Mundock Traders Managing Director Irshad Mundockil, Rugamba pledged to offer the consumer a new portfolio of brands designed to meet the discerning tastes of the public.
He added that the entry of Pepsi into the Rwanda market will give the consumers a new and exciting taste currently not on the market.
"The difference between our new product and the already existing one is what should drive people to consume more of it and we are confident that we shall favorably compete,” he said.
The recommended selling prices of Pepsi products is RWF 300 per bottle and a countrywide roll out is scheduled for May.
