A total of 70 golfers have registered to participate in this year’s Genocide Memorial Golf Tournament, which takes place Saturday afternoon at Kigali Golf Club.
Happening for a fourth year running, the competition is aimed at paying tribute to the over one million people who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
According to Davis Kashaka, the captain of Kigali Golf Club, the one-day event will be a shortgun tournament where all golfers tee off simultaneously from different holes.
As part of the golf body’s commemoration activities, the Caddy Members Association visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial on Tuesday.
