The local cycling governing body (Ferwacy) has announced that the inaugural edition of ‘Northern Challenge’ will be held on July 6, in Musanze District.

It will be a circuit race around Musanze town and, according to Ferwacy, the federation is putting all logistics together for a successful event.

Bonaventure Uwizeyimana, who won his second national championship on Sunday , is one of the riders viewed as favourites to win the race.

By press time Thursday, teams and distance details of the race were yet to be revealed.
