J.C Gasigwa vs  M. Dzuwa (Men)
C. Odour      vs  S. Irankunda (Women)

Rwanda’s top seed Jean Claude Gasigwa plays Dzuwa Martin of Zimbabwe in today’s ITF/CAT East African money circuit Kigali leg final.

Gasigwa eased into the final with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over seventh seed Hassan Murisho of Burundi while Dzuwa dislodged Rwanda’s second seed Dieudonne Habiyambere 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 in a fascinating game which wooed the large crowd at Novotel courts including Rwandan president Paul Kagame.

Ahead of today’s final, Gasigwa said that he was in good shape and very confident about defending his title.

"Dzuwa is a good player but I’m up for the task. I think I have been consistent with my performance in this tournament and hope to carry on in tomorrow’s final,” he said. Meanwhile, the ladies’ final pits Kenya’s Caroline Odour and Burundi’s Santiana Irakunda.

Odour made it to the final after a straight sets victory 6-1, 6-2 over Uganda’s Rosette Musoke while Irakunda had a more onerous task against Rwanda Joseline Umulisa.

Despite losing the opening set 5-7, Irakunda pulled through after winning the next two sets 6-4, 6-0.
