Women Kivumu vs Nyakabanda

Gihango Sector, of Rutsiro District, Masaka, of Kicukiro District have reached the final of this year’s Umurenge Kagame Cup football tournament after sending off Mamba (Gisagara district) and Nyarugenge from (Nyarugenge District) in semi-finals.

Hopefuls Gihango booked ticket to the final with a 6-4 aggregate score, despite losing the return-leg 3-2 on Friday.

Masaka set date with Gihango in the final after brushing aside Nyarugenge 6-2 on aggregate, having won the first and reverse-leg encounters 4-1 and 2-1, respectively.

In women’s category, the title match will be an affair between defending champions Kivumu Sector (Rutsiro District) and Nyakabanda (Nyarugenge District) after seeing off Gihombo Sector (Nyamasheke District) and Nyamabuye (Muhanga District) in the last four.

Finals will be played at Huye Stadium on June 9.
