APR will be looking to end their disappointing 2018/2019 Azam Rwanda Premier League on a high when they face Police at Kigali Stadium on Saturday.

All match-day 30 fixtures get underway at 3pm.

The army side have had a disastrous run of results in the last two months, but they are eager to cap the league campaign with a ‘morale boosting’ victory ahead of the Peace Cup tournament.

"We have struggled with results lately, and every player was affected,” APR skipper Jean Baptiste ‘Migi’ Mugiraneza told Saturday Sport in a recent interview.

Going into their final match round, APR trail Rayon Sports by seven points. The latter host Marines at Amahoro Stadium, after which they will be officially crowned as the new champions to end APR’s reign.

Under fire Zlatko Krmpotić and his APR side have only won twice in their last seven matches, and lost to mid-table teams AS Muhanga and Espoir in their last two games. Skipper Migi urges his teammates not to lose focus.

"We still have the Peace Cup title to fight for; we should not lose concentration,” he said. "Winning [against Police] would boost our morale, and that is what we will be looking for.”

After the Police tie, APR will immediately turn attention to their Peace Cup opener against second tier side Rwamagana City on June 5.
