President Paul Kagame on Saturday, May 11, arrived in Dakar, Senegal, where he was received by host President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and several cabinet members.

In Dakar, the Heads of State are expected to hold a tête-à-tête as well as a luncheon hosted by President Faye.

Kagame and Faye are also expected to attend the Basketball Africa League (BAL) game between Senegal’s AS Douanes and Rwanda’s APR, marking the last game before the playoffs and finals to be held in Kigali from May 24 through June 1.

This is President Kagame's first visit to Senegal since President Faye was elected as the country's leader.

Faye, 44, a senior official in the Pastef party won the elections in March.
