forward Patrick ‘Pappy’ Sibomana has said he is focused on improving his football level and helping his new side after completing his move to Young Africans.

The Rwanda international penned a two-year deal with the Tanzania giants on Tuesday.

Sibomana had been featuring for Mukura since February this year after parting ways with Belarusian side Shakhtyor Soligorsk last December.

After his signing, Sibomana stressed his desire to work hard and earn a regular spot in the starting eleven at the country’s most successful club – with a record 27 league and five CECAFA Kagame Cup titles in their trophy cabin.

"It is a good challenge for me and I believe it is an opportunity to reach another level. I will work hard to earn a starting position and try all I can to help my new team,” Sibomana said.

"I am excited to join one of the biggest clubs in the region.”

Sibomana, who rapidly rose through the ranks from the U17, U20 and U23 national teams, made his maiden appearance for senior Amavubi in 2013.

The 25-year old joins in the Tanzania Premier League two compatriots Meddie Kagere and Haruna Niyonzima who inspired Simba SC to their 20th league title last week.

Meanwhile, it is reported that APR striker Issa Bigirimana has also signed a two-year contract with Young Africans.

When contacted for a comment on Wednesday, APR officials said that "the player still has one year of contract with us” and any transfer involving him should first pass through the club.

However, Adolphe Kalisa, the APR Secretary General, conceded that the player had sneaked out of the club’s camp and he was in Tanzania.

APR face Police in the two sides’ final league game this season, on Saturday.
