The Rwandan Development Board (RDB), in collaboration with the Rwandan embassy in Senegal, on May 11 hosted "a momentous culinary affair” in Dakar.
The exclusive brunch not only celebrated the rich cultural heritage and gastronomic delights of Africa but also served as a platform for fostering investment opportunities between Rwanda and Senegal, a related statement reads.
"In a strategic move to bolster economic ties between Rwanda and Senegal, the brunch brought together Rwandan investors with the Council of Senegalese Investors,” reads the statement.
The primary focus of the gathering was to encourage Senegalese investors to explore the abundant investment prospects available in Rwanda's burgeoning economy.
Jean-Pierre Karabaranga, the Ambassador of Rwanda to Senegal, cordially welcomed esteemed guests and emphasized the importance of economic collaboration in driving sustainable development and prosperity in both countries. He highlighted Rwanda's commitment to creating an enabling environment for foreign investment, citing the nation's robust infrastructure, strategic location, and business-friendly policies.
Setti Solomon and Candy Basomingera, the representatives from RDB, engaged in constructive dialogues with members of the Council of Senegalese Investors, showcasing Rwanda's investment potential across various sectors, including tourism, agriculture, technology, and manufacturing.
"The brunch also featured testimonials from renowned Senegalese film actors, influencers, women investors, and businesspeople who had recently visited Rwanda. They shared their transformative experiences and highlighted Rwanda's remarkable progress in various fields, from sustainable tourism initiatives to innovative entrepreneurship endeavors.”
Notable figures such as Victor Ndiaye president of the Senegalese Club of Investors, and Amèlie Mbaye, an actress, recounted their memorable journeys to Rwanda, expressing admiration for the country's scenic beauty, vibrant culture, and welcoming hospitality. Their testimonials served as powerful endorsements, inspiring other Senegalese investors, and entrepreneurs to explore Rwanda's diverse investment landscape.
