Champions Gisagara are seeking to bounce back with Game 2 home victory after after losing Game 1 last weekend.

Game 2

Gisagara     Vs   REG              15:00

Third-place

Game 2

UTB             Vs     IPRC-East  18:00

Rwanda Energy Group (REG) will be hoping to make history in Gisagara Saturday afternoon when they take on Gisagara Volleyball Club in Game 2 of the 2019 play-off games finals.

Not only would they be winning the national volleyball league title without losing a game in the post-season playoffs, and on an away court, but it would also be the club’s historic first championship.

Benon Mugisha’s REG beat defending champions Gisagara in straight (3-0) sets in Game 1 last Saturday, and they only need Game 2 victory in the best-of-three finals to lift the title.

However, former Rwanda international and Gisagara caretaker Elie Mutabazi, he says, is aware of the situation and is optimistic about his side’s chances at home.

"Game 2 is a must-win for us,” he said.

"We have been working hard in training since losing Game 1, and I hope it pays off. It would be a shame if they [REG} win the title at our home.”

In separate interview, Mugisha cautioned his players not to give any chance to Gisagara to control the game, because "with the home advantage, it would be hard to bounce back.”

Meanwhile the University of Tourism, Technology and Business Studies (UTB) are set to finish third, should they beat IPRC-East in Game 2 of the third-place playoff after winning Game 1 last weekend.
