RWANDA has reached the final of the 2019 Beach Volleyball Africa Cup of Nations after seeing off Sierra Leone in the last four in Abuja, Nigeria, on Friday night.

The in-form pair of Olivier Ntagengwa and Patrick Kavalo Akumuntu faces Morocco in title decider on Saturday.

Ntagengwa and Kavalo put up a never-die performance for a final berth, at the expense of their Sierra Leone opponents, after going down 21-19 in the first set before bouncing back to take the next two sets 21-13 and 15-13.

However, their compatriots Charlotte Nzayisenga and Benitha Mukandayisenga lost their semis encounter to Mauritius, and are due to take on the hosts Nigeria in the third place playoff.

Both teams will represent the country and continent at the 2019 Beach Volleyball World Championships from June 28 to July 7 in Hamburg, Germany.
