Have you ever heard about child soldiers?  If you did not know, child soldiers are children fighting in a war. Anyone under 18 years of age is a child. It is a crime for children to be in the army.

Children should understand that they are not supposed to fight or get involved in the army. Instead every child has a right to be protected from dangerous war zone areas.

Each year on February 12th, the world commemorates the International Children Soldiers Day. This day is meant to discourage the people and countries that involve children in wars.

Children in war areas are usually captured, trafficked and given corporal punishments like carrying heavy fighting machines.

They spend all their time fighting useless wars in the bush. They are taught wrong ideologies and denied the right to education and a good healthy life.

Children have to be protected from all these things. That’s why the Convention on the Rights of a Child, states that all countries have to protect children from fighting during wars.

Among the children,s rights, the ‘Right of Freedom’ is the most important because without freedom all the other rights are not possible.
