Children and teenagers around the world have started the "Red Hand Campaign" which advocates for the protection of child soldiers.

The 12th of February is a day set by the United Nations (UN) to commemorate Child Soldiers around the world.

The day was introduced seven years ago but unfortunately the number of child soldiers has hardly changed since then. There are still 250,000 children used in the wars of the adults.

The goal of the Red Hand campaign is to raise global awareness of the plight of child soldiers. The Red Hand symbol is used all over the world to stop the recruitment of child soldiers.

Child soldiers have been used in many wars including wars in the Democratic Republic of Congo but let us hope that as the war in Congo is getting over, many children will be set free.
