Editor,

Reference is made to a letter from Desire Dusabe that was published in the New Times of 9th February 2009 entitled "RITA large screen technology: A luxury!”

I would like to respond to Mr Dusabe by stating that the installation of the Screens at the Stadiums is not a luxury as he suggests but a conscience investment that will enable events or messages which are of public interest reach over 500,000 people at one venue at one time.

The decision to locate the screens at the stadiums was strategic given the ample infrastructure and the diversity of events these venues are used for.

We are confident that in a very short while we shall witness the use of the screens for Public Educational Events or Social Communication to mention a few.

The large screen technology is just one of many cutting edge ICT solutions RITA has deployed or is developing in Rwanda.

I would like to invite Mr. Dusabe and any other member of the public who wants to contact me or any member of our team for more information on our current work in progress projects or indeed those RITA has already delivered in the Education, Governance, Health and Communication subsectors.
