The national volleyball league playoffs, initially scheduled for May 10-12, have been pushed to May 17-19 at Ecole Belge Gymnasium, Gisozi, local volleyball governing body (FRVB) has confirmed.
The decision comes at the time the federation is looking for a venue best placed to host the matches for both men and women’s playoffs.
"The playoffs were postponed to next weekend because we needed some more time for preparations for best gymnasium. We believe that by next weekend, the selected gymnasium will be ready to host the playoffs,” FRVB Secretary General, Philbert Mucyo, told Times Sport.
The men’s playoffs will bring together Rwanda Energy Group (REG), Kepler, Police and APR while APR Women Volleyball Club, Police, defending champions Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and Ruhango Volleyball Club will compete in the women’s playoffs.

The playoffs semi-finals will be played on the best of three series after which winners from each last four will face-off in the final. The champion will represent Rwanda at next year’s CAVB Club Championships.
In men's category, REG finished at the top of the table of the men’s regular season with 44 points followed by Police with 44 points but the former are ahead with 15 wins while later have 14 wins. Kepler and APR are on third and fourth places with 43 points and 40 points respectively.
Meanwhile, in women category, APR Women Volleyball Club finished top of the table after losing just once in the regular season against Police who finished the regular season in second place.

Defending champions RRA are third with 19 points while Ruhango Volleyball Club finished in the fourth place with 10 points.
