Defending champions Atraco continued their grip on the national football league leadership over the weekend thanks to a 3-1 win over relegation threatened La Jeunesse at Nyamirambo stadium.

The taxi men lead nine time league thanks to a superior goal difference of 11 goals.  

This season’s signing Kalisa Kase scored a brace and the league’s top marksman Jean Lomami improved his goal tally to 12 goals after his scored Atraco’s third.

Jean Mudeyi scored Jeunesse’s consolation goal.
Atraco sit at the table summit with 27 points and lead APR on goal difference.

In another game played at the same venue, Rayon Sport kept in sight of the top duo with a 2-0 over Police.

Jamal Mwiseneza scored Rayon’s first goal before Toure Desai sealed Police’s feat to kept Rayon in the third on the table with 23 points.

APR were lucky to return back to Kigali with maximum points from Nyamagabe as DR Congo striker Djoli Bokungu scored the lone goal of the game to rescue the military side.

Elsewhere, relegation battling side SC Kiyovu recorded their second win of the season thanks to a 1-0 win over Marines at Umuganda stadium.

Tumaine Ntamuhanga scored for the fallen giants to take them off the foot of the table with nine points, two points ahead of Jeunesse. Kiyovu’s first victory of the season was a 1-0 win over Rayon Sport in the first leg.

In Karongi, Saddam Akimana gave the hosts Kibuye maximum points in a  1-0 victory  over AS Kigali while Mukura humbled Electrogaz 2-0 at Remera.

Ugandan import Meddie Kagere and Daddy Birori were on target for the Southern Province giants.
